Team "So Sexy" (get it? Social Work + Sexual Health?)

MOUNTAIN DAY:
Yesterday consisted of cable carring up a mountain, shopping, eating and karaokeing. Whew. So great.

Started with the typical morning roundup, because half of our group is staying in an apartment up the hill from us, the mornings are usually crazy trying to locate everyone, feed and coffee everyone and then get somewhere. So we finally got in a cab around 11am. Then we took off for Table Mountain. We went here a week in a half ago expecting to take the Cable Car up to the top, but it was down for annual maintenance, which ended Sunday. So it was fresh. The cable car is kind of pricey, but we went anyway. Also the weather was spectacular, like crazy perfect. So the 8 of us made it to the top and spent the next hour or so venturing around, taking photos and hanging out. The top of the mountain is quite large, so when we shifted directions we wanted to make sure everyone was around, so we dubbed "Team so sexy" as our name. Social Work + Sexual Health. Love it.
The view is amazing, we saw all around the mountain top, the city of cape town, the fancier beaches, and the rest of the mountain range that Table Mtn is part of. Also, the cable car is an interesting thing: the inside rotates in a complete 360 while going up, the speed is quite fast- much faster than I expected, and everyone is standing up, crammed in. Definitely not something I do everyday.
Here's the proof:

So this is 'planking'- a silly thing that some people do. This is me making fun of it on Table Mountain, but also actually doing it. :-P

On the cable car return trip!

When we got back to the hotel, we had lunch next door at a lovely restaurant and then shopped around a little in the Cape Quarter (or shopping district right next to our hotel, also where we get coffee in the mornings) So convenient and really nice. I added a few things to my list of purchases.

We went to dinner a tad later at one of the only Mexican restaurants we have seen "San Julian: Taco y Tequila". Much fancier than Mexican restaurants in the States and most of the servings were actually normal, but when they say "full portion" nachos they mean "hugest portion ever in a bowl the size of a small child"
Not what I was expecting, but delicious nonetheless.
The night ended at "The Bronx" gay bar on the corner of our street. It was Karaoke night. I've never done real karaoke, like in public, and this was really fun!! We sang a few songs and then headed home to rest  up for today's adventures!
